Brooklyn East Collegiate is more than a school. Brooklyn East Collegiate is a mission. We are on a mission. Our mission is to be a high-quality public school that takes any student who is chosen in our random lottery and prepares him or her with the knowledge, skills and character to go on to college and to have a successful, happy life. We believe every one of our students has the potential to change the world. We fulfill this mission by being focused on the needs of our students, by building a real community that shares core values, and by using every minute of the day to help our students achieve academically and personally. We instill in each of our students our PRIDE values: perseverance, respect, integrity, discipline, and enthusiasm.  By teaching these values, and by modeling them in our own lives, we give our students the skills and the habits that will allow them to succeed and to make difference in the world. We need to empower our students with the knowledge and character to better their own lives as well as the lives of others.

At Brooklyn East Collegiate, we persevere because we know we are going to face challenges as we work to change the world.  We respect ourselves, our classmates, our school, and our community.  We work to have the integrity to do the right thing even when no one is watching. By showing discipline, we develop the practices that will one day make our students inspiring leaders. Building strong habits and character will lead our students down the path of success and allow them to change the world.    We are an enthusiastic community because we value learning and understand the positive impact education has on our lives.
